home Welcome to SSPS SSPS (Single Sound Per Symbol) is a simple phonetic alphabet which means each symbol has only one sound that is the same regardless of its position within a word. Different to the 'International Phonetic Alphabet' or IPA as it is often referred, the letters in this set are intuitive to the reader as they resemble the adjacent letters that make up the sounds outside of the usual A to Z English alphabet. With proper effort, a person should be able to read sentences written in this letter set in a few days and be comfortable writing with it in 4 to 7 days. Once learnt, it is a faster method of writing than usual English spelling. As English is spoken in different ways all over the world, many words can be said and therefore spelt in a number of different ways.
